Halo 2: Complete all Halo 2 Legendary campaign missions in under 3 hours.

  • How to unlock Monopolized

As one of the four Legendary speed running achievements, this achievement will prove to be one of the most difficult tasks within the entire collection. It's worth noting that you may want to grab a Co-Op partner when working on this achievement for two reasons. One, the extra firepower will help put down enemies a little quicker. Secondly, one player can usually act as a decent distraction while the second player attempts to push on and run by as many enemies as possible in an attempt to grab the next checkpoint. Just remember that when playing Halo 2 on Co-Op Legendary, the death of one player will revert your progress to the most recent checkpoint.

This essentially means that you may want to replay individual missions dozens of times in order to perfect your runs and learn new tactics in skipping various firefights. Unfortunately, a text-based guide would be too tedious in explaining every single mission within the game, so please refer to THIS LINK for an in-depth look at completing Halo 2's Legendary Campaign in under three hours. A huge thanks goes out to Naked Eli for providing the video content.

As confirmed by Sun100, this achievement does not need to be attempted in one continuous run. Rather, the game will track your best time on each mission completed on the Legendary difficulty setting and add them up for a grand total. When a new "Personal Record" is set for that mission, it will override the previous tracked time. This essentially means that you can tackle a mission multiple times in an attempt to perfect your speed run.

NOTE: By following the speed running tactics provided in the video above, you will almost certainly obtain the Par Time achievement for each of the Campaign's thirteen missions. This means that if you have yet to grab the Par Time achievements on the Easy or Normal difficulty setting, they can be stacked on the Legendary difficulty setting while working on this achievement.

  • Well this should be fun :D
  • I like how the sub-3 hour achievements reference notable Halo speedrunners.
  • Will skulls be negate this achievement? Because this would be a cake walk with the scarab skull on
  • Gamertag: Frijoler0 Also willing to create a good group to do the multiplayer achievements, and these Speedrun (legendary is already difficult.. so as many people as we can get will be nice), Add me, invite me to your party and lets play
  • So if you just go for par times on legendary youll automatically beat it under 3 hours on halo 1 3 and 4 as.their total par time is under 3 hours. Halo 2 total par time is 3.5 hours so just taking a few minutes off every one will add up. Just a suggestion
  • You don't have to complete all the missions in a single run through! https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/85d779d52cfd46918b4f8b638f2e3c7b/topics/information-on-achievements-and-laso-playlists/1e6eeea0-8efb-4f90-adf1-13d23ab0ef81/posts
  • Gt same as user name. Looking for people to do this as well as CE H2 H3 and H4. And LASO, you must know some speed running tactics. Send Message letting me know who you are.
  • Check out Nak3d Eli on Youtube. As of December 8, 2014 he only has halo ce and 2/3 of halo 2 but he will probably have more soon.
  • Gravemind friking sucked! I just got this, word of advice, do gravemind first, then regret. If you can get a decent time on both(20 on regret and gravemind) youll be fine. I think I spend 10 hours doing every level besides those two, and about another 14 just on those 2 alone. The par time totals are 3.5 hours, so shoot for par on gravemind and regret, or close to them. Theres a few levels you can complete in a couple of minutes and make up time. Good luck everyone! And yeah nakex eli, used his guides for both one and two.
  • Need a good partner to help me out with this, thanks! GT:Rknb117
  • So is this linked to the Par Time achievements? At first look I thought you would have to do it in one run!
  • looking to beat more of these with people, beat a few by myself but honestly would like that extra player around to spawn on and not lose 2-5 minutes for this nonsense lol. If you're looking to do this, PLEASE be somewhat decent; not asking for perfection, but i'd like to save us both the stress if you're just looking for an easy ride with me doing all the work
  • So just wondering, does this mean you have to beat the entire game in 3 hours, or does it just add up the time for every level? So can i do some of the harder levels first then start doing the others?
  • Definitely check out Nak3d eli's guides they are extremely helpful. And Gravemind and Regret are just terrible levels, good luck on those two
  • @13 It just takes the best time on the leaderboards for each level, you can do the mission any order you like
  • I am looking for a good group of 4 to do this and all the other speed runs. Hit me up if interested. GT: Distractor08
  • Finally done, only cost me a new controller, repairing a dent in the door and a sore hand, only because of the absolute BS I got on Regret. If you're going for this, Regret boss battle seems to be worse than Gravemind...

  • It will take the best times from your solo and your co-op to make the best run possible. Find which levels you can run solo faster than co-op, and which you can run faster in co-op. The skulls that give a 0.00x multiplier are the only ones that you CANNOT have on for this achievement (scarab, bonded pair, envy, etc). Most missions having two people can help (if both players know what they are doing). Some missions (I'm looking at you Gravemind, it can be a hindrance. You can use one player as a distraction and additional fire power. But with Iron effectively being on for co-op Legendary, that second player needs to know how to play and know the strats. Try and use certain skulls to your advantage. Example: Cairo station, you can use Grunt Funeral to help clear the two board
  • Hey Guys I need help with what I think are the two hardest levels in the game (Regret & Gravemind) If anyone who is is decent at runs and is willing to help it would be much appreciated!! GT: Stingrea
  • I would like a speed running partner for any of the campaigns. GT: Classy Moth
  • Just to make sure everyone knows, the achievement will not pop if you have no beaten every level on Legendary Solo. I'm not saying you can't pull from both co-op and solo times to get your best aggregate, but if you must beat each level Solo Legendary as well. The game basically needs to check the level to make sure your solo time isn't better, but if there is no solo time, it returns a null value and it just stops looking. You do not have to get a good time. For example, if you have one level you did not beat Solo Legendary, and you beat that level in 12 minutes coop, you can beat the same level solo in 2 hours and it will pop right after you finish beating that level. You can even use scarab to finish the level out. It returns a marked 00:00:00 time and disqualifies it as a tim

  • Hello. I am looking for assistance for completing halo 1,2,3 and 4 under 3 hours. My gamertag is ProTechSHADOW.
  • Looking to do the 2 hardest levels co-op which are Gravemind and Regret. Please send me a message and tell me what your location is so I can work out if the connection between us will be good enough. Trust me you don't want to add lag to a game that is already too hard lol
  • Need under 3 hours for halo 1,2,3,4 please msg me back if u can
  • I will be attempting this at some point. Here is my guide. Make it a 4 player Co op. Have one person stay back at all times (not too far back but enough to be safe) have one guy be the middle guy (good if you are going for scoring too) his job is to distract the enemies. The other two pushes forward one being there incase the other one dies do that he can continue to the next check point. At each check point everyone automatically spawns to it. I say turn on the graveyard skull. It could be called something else. The one that makes dead grunts turn into bombs. Please note that when playing as the arbiter be very careful when using this skull with the sword. You may want to switch weapons. However one can become the swordsman taking out all non grunts and the other can be the one sh
  • If anyone is rather experienced with the speedrunning techniques and tricks with Halo 2, and would be willing to help me out with getting this achievement, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Gamertag:A Its Johnny
  • Easy going, team player with over 87,000 gamerscore. Add me for co-op and achievements. GT: your7sins
  • GT: Attestedbarley2 Am looking to get all speed run achievements, unless your good at speed runs, will probably need more than 2 people. I am decent at all halos, but speed running is hard!!! Thanks in advance!!
  • I need help with this and other 3 hour achivements gamertag is same as this Brendo123
  • Anyone still up to trying to do not only this, but also halo CE too. I can help you out with halo 3,4 and ODST if you're having trouble with it. GT: unzipmypantsplz
  • I'm an easy going, team player that gets along with almost everyone. Feel free to add me for co-op game-play and help with achievements. GT: sin 1
  • Looking for someone to help a moderately average player with all LASO's (preferably the legit way) and all legendary speedruns. GT: aBeardedWolfman
  • Interesting note about this achievement: Unlike Legendary Anniversary achievement, you must complete The Armory level on Legendary difficulty to trigger it, even though the time isn't recorded for this level. Might also need to "complete" The Heretic (which is just a cutscene), but I was unable to check that.
