Welcome to Takedown: Red Sabre, a highly realistic, tactical shooter that brings a true challenge to its players. The game features 6 unique missions which can be played both in singleplayer by yourself or in co-op over Xbox Live with up to 5 other players. Bomb Defuse & Tango Hunt can also be played alone or over Xbox Live. The 3 Versus game modes include Attack & Defend, Team Deathmatch & Last Man Standing all of which that support 12 players in total.
Most of the achievements in the game are self-explanatory, it is the difficulty of the game itself that may hinder players from unlocking some of the achievements, therefore it is essential that you find a strong team, learn the games mechanics as they can be quite difficult to get used to of and finally persist with the missions as they will take several attempts to beat.
Missions
There are 6 main missions and 1 training mission to complete. Each mission grants an achievement upon completion. Missions can be played in both singleplayer or in co-op. It is recommended that most of the main missions are attempted in online co-op, and in a full team of 6 players. You have a 60 minute time limit on each mission before you automatically fail, although every mission can be completed well under 40 minutes as long as everyone takes their time.
Red Sabre Glitch
Do not play the Killhouse training mission until each of the 6 main missions are complete. If you complete the Killhouse mission first or in any random order between other missions, the "Red Sabre" achievement (Complete all Missions) will not unlock. You must leave Killhouse for last after the other 6 missions are complete. You can play the other missions in any order you desire. If you do complete Killhouse first, you will have to reset your save data. As the game does not carry a physical save in your HDD, you will have to use the USB reset trick and then complete all 6 missions again and then complete Killhosue to unlock the achievement.
USB Trick (Credit to K4rn4ge)
- While signed out, move your Xbox Profile to a USB stick
- Sign into your profile on the USB stick and boot the game up
- The main part, as soon as you see the 505 Games screen show up, pull out your USB stick. Do worry as your profile will not be harmed.
- Continue to proceed to the Main Menu of the game, now insert the USB sick back in.
At this point, there will be game save tied to your profile on the USB stick, meaning you can now complete the 6 missions again, and then the Killhouse training mission, and the achievement will unlock.
Tango Hunt/Bomb Defuse
These are secondary modes as opposed to Missions and can also be played in singleplayer or in co-op. Both modes offer 10 of the same maps each that must be completed, some are day/night variations of the same map. You only have one life regardless of whether you play in singleplayer or co-op, so it is highly recommended you attempt these in a full team of 6 in online co-op.
Versus Achievements
There are 4 versus achievements, all which can be boosted with a friend in around 3 hours. You must win 10 games of Team Deathmatch, Last Man Standing & Attack & Defend as well as a total of 100 matches across all modes. Team Deathmatch is the quickest to finish 100 games with. See "Shooter" for more details.
