Every song on the disc has between one and four goals. Some have a tutorial goal that you should get easily by playing the tutorial, most have score goals in order to unlock alternate mixes (see Mix Master for info on the score goals) and every song on the disc has a unique goal. Some of these involve choosing only specific mixes, others involve playing sections perfectly or hitting a certain number of path cues or hold cues. What follows is a brief guide to the final goal for every on-disc song.
Applause: Start the song in the Blue mix, then switch to the Green mix, then Pink mix, Blue mix, etc. While the concept is simple, it can get confusing while you are doing it. In particular, coming out of the Spells can cause you to lose track. If you are ever unsure of where you are, look at your silhouette. It will tell you exactly which mix you are in. Keep the rotation going for the entire song and you will end in the. Blue Mix.
Blue Monday: Play only the Green Mix. This is simple enough. Just make sure that you play it safe by choosing only the green mix at the beginning and always select the green mix at switch cues.
Bohemian Rhapsody: Hit 5 cues while maintaining a hold with you other hand. To unlock this, you will need to keep the hold. If you slip out of the hold circle while performing the cue with your other hand, it will not count. The song only features 9 of these situations, though. There are 8 in the Metal (Green) mix after the first switch cue and one in the Original (Blue) mix in the final section. The "Nothing really matters" section.
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik: Hit 30 Double Cues. There are more than enough double cues in the Original (Blue) mix of this very easy song. There are 10 in the composition spells and 6 each time through the main refrain.
Enjoy the Silence: Fully perform 50 hold cues. First off, you are going to need to make sure that you hold the cues to the end, otherwise it will not count. Second, there are only about 45 hold cues in the Original (Blue) mix, but they occur in bunches. The Pink mix, on the other hand, contains a lot of incidental Hold Cues. What you are going to want to do is play the Blue mix in the first, fourth, sixth and final sections, while playing the Pink mix the rest of the time.
Feel Good Inc.: Find and Perform the Windmill routine. The Windmill routine is located in the Case and Point (Green) mix after the second spell. The routine consists of four double cues, alternating up and down, then out to opposite sides.
Fire: Start in the Original Mix and choose it at every switch cue. This is very straight forward. Every time you are given the option, you will need to select the blue mix. Make sure that you don't miss a switch cue and that you always choose the blue mix.
Forget You: Pick the Pink mix at every guitar/synth switch cue. There are only 3 of these cues. You will need to make sure that you pick the Pink guitar track instead of any of the piano/synthesiser mixes in the other mixes. If you want to play if safe, pick only the pink mix from start to finish.
Four Seasons - Winter: Select the Green mix at every possible percussion cue. Whenever you see the choice between a blue xylophone and a green drum kit, choose the drum kit. It's a simple matte of choosing the green mix at the switch cues. It is more straightforward if you choose only the green mix when ever you reach a switch cue.
Galang: Fully perform the final section in the Original (Blue) mix. This is actually quite difficult. You need to hit all cues, hold all hold cues to the end, follow all path cues completely and so on. This is particularly challenging because the final section includes a set of path moves where you are not moving symmetrically. You are asked to curve one hand out and up, then back to the centre, while the other hand goes out and down, then back to the centre. The biggest tip is to move on the path as soon as you punch out to start it. This may take a few attempts.
Get Ur Freak On: Fully perform all Square moves in the Original mix. There are 7 in total, 3 in the first section, and 4 in the final section, after the second composition spell. They are all diagonal moves and the tricky part is that they are not on a regular beat. There are other moves that look similar, but only the 7 mentioned count.
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2: Fully perform 15 path cues. This is made challenging by the fact that there are only 19 path cues in the song if you select the right mixes and they are some of the more challenging moves to fully perform. In order to get 19 you need to start in the Green mix, switch to the Blue mix at the first opportunity, then over to the Pink mix at the second switch cue. After that, stay with the blue mix for the duration of the song. If you are having difficulties with the double cues, try focusing on just one of the cues. You do have a little margin for error and nailing one is better than missing both.
In Your Eyes: Fully perform the 4 upward hold cues in the Original mix. In order to fully perform them, you need to hold the cue until it ends. You are free to miss the next move if that helps. The 4 moves are spread throughout the song, but only the four that occur simultaneously count.
Levels: Fully perform the Heart Path in the Original mix. The heart path occurs just after the first composition spell and is rather easy. Make sure you start moving along the path immediately after punching out to start them.
Locked Out of Heaven: Select the Green mix at every vocal Switch Cue. The Green vocal mix features the image of a trombone, as opposed to the other mixes which are just microphones. Make sure that you select them every time they appear. It would probably be easier to select the green mix at every opportunity, but so long as you choose the mix that features the trombone from at the green switch cues, you will be fine.
Message in a Bottle: Find and perform the SOS routine. The SOS moves occur in the Green mix right after the first spell. They are simple enough, consisting of 3 sweep cues to the right, 3 punch cues and 3 more sweep cues to the right. It's SOS in Morse code.
Night on Bald Mountain: Start on the Green mix and select it at every switch cue. This is fairly simple, so long as you focus on hitting the switch cues and make sure that you emphatically select the green mix.
Nutcracker Medley: Unlock both Composition Spells. You don't need to get a perfect score or hit every cue in the spell, you just need to unlock them. By the time you get to this point, you should have a lot of experience with the spells and realize that the spells are very forgiving, rotating to allow you to hit lines that you may had missed.
Radioactive: Fully perform all the radioactive symbols in the Pink mix. The two radioactive symbols occur at the end of the final vocal mix. They start with a punch, followed by a downward swipe, finishing with a double up and out swipe. Not the most complicated, but if you miss any one of the moves, you will need to play the entire song again.
The Real Me: Complete 10 Path Cues. There are only 12 Path Cues, all of which are in the Green mix. Fortunately, the path cues in this song are relatively easy, consisting of only 6 sets of double vertical paths. Remember to start moving your hand along the path as soon as you punch out to start.
Rocket Man: Fully perform the final section of the Pink Mix. This is not easy. There are a lot of quick moves, so your best bet is to learn to alternate arms, since a sweep to the right and then a diagonal up and right sweep does not always track perfectly on the same arm. In addition to hitting every cue, you will need to hold every hold cue until the end. You are best served by playing the pink mix from the beginning of the song in order to get accustomed to the beat and flow of that version of the song.
Royals: Start in the Pink mix and select it at every switch cue. This is straightforward enough. You will need to hit every switch cue, but that's all you need to hit.
Scout's Song: Fully perform every cue outside the spells. This is amongst the hardest goals. You don't need to hit the cues in the spells, but you need to do everything else. Follow every path perfectly, hold every hold cue to the end and such. That means that you can get 5 Golden Notes on the song and still not hit this goal. Watch your counter for how many of the notes out of 224 that you have performed. By the time you reach the first spell, you will need to have a counter of 18, 61 at the second spell, 69 at the third spell, 71 at the fourth spell and 85 at the fifth spell. If you do not have this count, you have missed something. After the fifth spell, first you'll need to keep your streak until the end. You'll also need to perfectly perform a few tricky path cues. One of the hardest is a falling or rising wave pattern. This one can almost be performed as a straight diagonal if you are having issues.
Settle Down: Start in the Pink mix and select it at every switch cue. This is straightforward enough. You will need to hit every switch cue, but that's all you need to hit. Make sure you only move one arm since Kinect occasionally will choose the wrong arm if you move both.
Seven Nation Army: Fully perform all 8 echoed vocal sections in the Pink mix. This isn't too hard, but the echoes are spread throughout each vocal section. The first vocal section has two, while the others have 3. Sometimes it is sweeps, other times it is hits, but none are difficult.
Some Nights: Fully perform all moves where the lyrics reference the song title in the Pink mix. These occur in the vocal sections only. There are 10 in total, 7 in the first vocal section and 3 in the vocal sections between the spells. The moves vary, but they are not complicated.
Super Bass: Complete 5 path cues. There are 8 path cues in the blue mix, so stay in the blue mix. 4 of the cues are singles, and the other 4 are in double cues, so you have a significant margin for error. Make sure you start moving your hand along the path as soon as you punch out so that you don't miss the first section.
Symphony No. 9, IV: Fully perform both falling leaf patters in the Original (blue) mix. Both of these moves occur in the violin sections, and both are right after the spells. The first section consists of 6 alternating downward curves while the second consists of 4 alternating downward curves. You will need to hit all 10 of the moves.
Take Care: Start in the Pink mix, but switch to the Green mix at every Switch Cue. This is straightforward enough. Make sure that every mix you choose in the opening is the Pink mix, and that you hit every switch cue for the green mix. The green mix is all microphones, so don't get confused on one of the game's longer songs.
Theme from Fantasia: Get a streak of 50 cues. There are about 250 cues in the blue mix, which appears to be the easiest. You don't need to hold the Hold Cues until the end, but you do need to start them. You don't need to fully perform the path cues, but you do need to start them. All you need to do is keep your streak going.
Toccata and Fugue: Fully perform 12 Path Cues. If you choose the correct path, there are only 14 path cues max. The first section has 6 in the green mix, the second has 2 in the pink mix, the third has 2 in the green mix and the fifth has 4 in the green mix. The two paths in the third section occur very close together, so you are almost going to need to have the second path started before you get confirmation that you have hit the first. A lot of the cues are in double moves, so you can't even try the "just focus on one move" trick. Remember that you are going to want to start moving immediately after you punch out to start the path to not risk missing the first move.
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt 1: Fully perform the 2 Giant Robot gesture patterns in the Original mix. Both of them occur in vocal sections, one in the vocal section after the first spell and the other in the vocal section after the second spell. The pattern involves a double sweep, where one arm goes up and the other goes down, then moving each arm in the alternate direction. You may want to make sure that your arms are out in front of you when you start to make sure that you don't miss the first downward cue.
Ziggy Stardust: Select the Green mix at every percussion cue. There are only 2 percussion switch cues, so make sure that you select the green mix at those opportunities. So not the pink timpani or the blue drum kit. You can even play the entire green mix to make things easier.
