Introduction:
Welcome to Fantasia, a new Kinect-based IP from the makers of Rock Band and Dance Central. Though make no mistake, the game is far easier than Dance Central or Rock Band. The core mechanic is essentially a simulation of conducting an orchestra. You are able to switch mixes and mix and match tracks, ending up with things like a metal version of Bohemian Rhapsody or a techno-funk version of Mozart. But the main part of the game has you making motions that are essentially supposed to make you feel like you are conducting the music. The game has some hard achievements, but if you pick up the mechanic, it won't take too much difficulty to complete it.

Tips:
There are a few general things that will help you with the game that the game just doesn't tell you. First, there is a rather large timing window for the moves. As soon as the wide end of the sweep cue opens up, you can start the move. The same is true as punch cues. As soon as the smaller interior circle contracts, you can hit the cue. You don't need to wait until the spark hits the note, you can hit them early and still get credit.

It doesn't matter which arm you use for the move. If the move is on the left side of the screen, you can use your right arm and it will be fine. This helps when you have two moves in rapid succession, you can use one arm for one and the other arm for the other move. It also helps since you don't want to cross your arm in front of your body if you can help it. It's not critical, since some moves require it, but it will occasionally cause problems.

Step One: Campaign
At the start of the game, very little is unlocked. You can turn on a party mode to unlock every mix and every song, but you can't earn achievements or complete goals in this mode. So, you're going to start in the campaign mode by selecting "Play Game." The game will give you a reasonable tutorial on many of the game's mechanics and then you are able to go through the game in whatever order you like. There are 5 different main realms, and 5 more that unlock as you progress. Once you have unlocked your first composition spell, you are able to progress in any order.

The key things you are going to need to accomplish are laid out in the "Magical Fragments" of the game. You are going to be playing each song twice, once to unlock each alternate mix. You are also going to be unlocking various things that you can play with in the realms, such as the hotspots and various other things to monkey around with. Check the achievement guide to see which of this monkeying around will net you achievements.

The game will show you which fragments you still need to unlock in each realm, but it won't show you what you need for the journal pages. So you are going to want to keep track of any realms in which you have picked up the journal page. After you have all the magic fragments, you should have the mixes unlocked for the majority of the songs and all the songs unlocked.

Step Two: Song Library
Once you are done with the campaign, having gotten all the magic fragments, you are going to need to work through unlocking the mixes in the songs that don't appear in the campaign, and unlocking the final goal for every song. Some of the goals are remarkably easy, while others will take several attempts and a lot of familiarity with the song. If you are having trouble, refer to the guide for Goal Star. It's actually fairly straightforward as the game tells you what the goal for the song is both at the beginning of the song and at the bottom of the screen when you select the song.

Step Three: Multiplayer Mode
There are actually only three things that you need to do with another person: play a song, record using all spells and get 100% notes hit. But it's enough that you will actually need to recruit an actual person. Most songs have a few moves that require four arms to move, so even the best analogue will not work. By the tie you have finished off the campaign, you will probably not have too much difficulty getting 100% on a song, but your co-op partner did not necessarily have that same experience, so you will probably have to have some patience as you work through this.

Step Four: Mop Up
At this point, you may have actually gotten almost everything done. But if you still have things like getting Golden Notes on 5 different songs to do, or any of the random interactions in the realms left, now is the time to do it. You will probably have figured out the mechanics of the game to the point where you shouldn't have much trouble figuring out where to go using the guide, and if you have any songs left to 100%, you will probably have a good idea of which ones you will be able to easily pull off. If there is anything you need to do, refer to the guide below.

Conclusion:
All in all, Fantasia's difficulty comes from the new mechanics and the fact that there is a lot to unlock. You are going to need to play most songs multiple times, but that doesn't mean that the game gets repetitive. With the fact that you can constantly remix songs, most of the goals can be excuses to try new mixes. And, the completion will be a satisfying addition to your tag, if you can pull it off.

There are 50 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Started your apprenticeship with some help from your humble guide, Percy.

This will probably be the first achievement that you get. When you select the option "Play Game" from the main menu, you'll be taken to a tutorial. Start the tutorial, and you will unlock this achievement.

  • Recorded your own unique music in a Hot Spot for the first time.

See "Record Collector" for more info.

Every realm has between one and three hotspots, unlocked by getting fragments from alternate mixes in the songs. The game walks you through the first one in the Shoal, which involves playing with seashells on a sea turtle's back.

  • Earned the right to wear "The Hat."

Once you start the game's campaign mode, you will be given a tutorial introducing the mechanics. This tutorial lasts 5 songs, takes you through 5 realms and introduces the core mechanics of the game. Each song has a very reachable goal and once you complete all 5 songs you will be given the hat that Mickey Mouse wore in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."

  • Completed a Score Goal and revealed a remix.

See "Mix Master" for more info

You can do this in the Song Library if you have songs unlocked, but more likely you will get this in the campaign. After earning the hat, you will be taken to the Mount where you will meet Scout, who explains remixes. You will be asked to reach a score goal in Royals and unlock a remix when you reach that goal.

  • Discovered your first Composition Spell in a realm.

In the campaign, as you collect fragments in the realms, you will unlock composition spells. The game walks you through the first one in the Shoal. Once you collect four fragments in the Shoal by unlocking remixes and creating hotspot recordings you will unlock the first composition spell. Make a recording using the composition spell and you will unlock the achievement.

  • Discovered all 5 Composition Spells in realms.

In order to unlock the composition spells you will need to collect three or four fragments from the Shoal, the Hollow, the Nation, the Press and the Capsule. Once you have unlocked these spells and created a recording using each one of them, you will unlock the achievement.

  • Reunited the Master Sorcerer with his former apprentice.

After collecting all 5 composition spells, the game will take you back to the mount to play Scout's Song. The song isn't terribly difficult, has only one mix and no switches, but the point is to activate all 5 composition spells in the song. The song is fairly forgiving with the spells, giving you time to make up for any missed notes. Once you complete the task, you will be taken back to the Workshop to watch a cut scene featuring the Master Sorcerer and Scout and be given this achievement.

  • Used the Composition Spell in the Shadows.

The Shadows won't become available until after you unlock the composition spell in The Shoal. In order to use the composition spell, you will need to collect five of the eight available fragments in The Shadows, six in songs, two in hot spots. Once you make a recording in the composition spell and are taken back to the Workshop, the achievement will unlock.

  • Used the Composition Spell in the Haven.

The Haven won't become available until after you unlock the composition spell in The Hollow. In order to use the composition spell, you will need to collect five of the eight available fragments in The Haven, six in songs, two in hot spots. Once you make a recording in the composition spell and are taken back to the Workshop, the achievement will unlock.

  • Used the Composition Spell in the Neighborhood.

The Neighbourhood won't become available until after you unlock the composition spell in The Nation. In order to use the composition spell, you will need to collect five of the eight available fragments in The Neighbourhood, six in songs, two in hot spots. Once you make a recording in the composition spell and are taken back to the Workshop, the achievement will unlock.

  • Used the Composition Spell in the Plant.

The Plant won't become available until after you unlock the composition spell in The Press. In order to use the composition spell, you will need to collect five of the eight available fragments in The Plant, six in songs, two in hot spots. Once you make a recording in the composition spell and are taken back to the Workshop, the achievement will unlock.

  • Used the Composition Spell in the Cosmos.

The Cosmos won't become available until after you unlock the composition spell in The Capsule. In order to use the composition spell, you will need to collect six of the nine available fragments in The Cosmos, six in songs, three in hot spots. Once you make a recording in the composition spell and are taken back to the Workshop, the achievement will unlock.

  • Created a recording in every Hot Spot in the realms.

There are 20 Hot Spots across the ten realms in the game. The Cosmos has three, the Nation has One and the rest have two. First you will have to unlock each Hot Spot by completing score goals in the songs in that realm. It isn't random, though. Each Hot Spot is unlocked by getting a specific fragment from a specific song. Once the Hot Spot is unlocked, the game will walk you through unlocking all the notes in the Hot Spot. Once all the notes have been unlocked, you are free to create any recording you like in the Hot Spot. Once you save a recording in all 20 Hot Spots, the achievement will unlock. None of the Hot Spots are hard to find, but if you are having trouble, look for a shimmering yellow light.

  • Discovered all of the Magic Fragments in the realms.

Magic Fragments are unlocked one of two ways: By completing score goals in the songs in the realms and by creating recordings in the Hot Spots in the realms. All together, there are 70 fragments, 50 from the 25 songs and 20 from the Hot Spots. The game will tell you which fragments you are missing in each realm, so you don't need to worry about keeping track. If you have unlocked the fragment, there will be a sound wave pattern beside the song or the Hot Spot. For help with the Hot Spots, see "Record Collector". For help with the score goals and unlocking remixes, see "Mix Master".

  • Viewed a journal page while exploring a realm.

Journal pages will unlock either by collecting fragments in the realms or doing specific actions with the interactive objects. Find and view one of the ones that unlock in the realms and the achievement will unlock.

  • Collected all of the journal pages.

There are 20 journal pages in the game, 10 of which will either unlock automatically or be found in the Workshop as the story progresses. The other 10 are found in the realms, one in each. Most of them will be given to you as unlock fragments, but there are four that need to be unlocked via specific actions in the realms.

The Nation: There are 4 mesas at the bottom of the right hand side of the screen that will unlock as you collect fragments. Wave at one and birds or bats will fly out, depending on the state of the dragon. Wave at all four mesas (the one under the dragon is a little hard to spot) and the journal page will appear.

The Press: After unlocking some fragments, you will be able to use a variety of machinery in the realm. In the centre, is an elevator that adds worker robots to the scene and on the ceiling on the right is a magnet. Wave at the elevator to create several robots and then wave at the magnet to pick up three of the robots to make the journal page appear.

The Capsule: After unlocking some fragments, a set of cabinets will appear on the far left of the realm. Wave at them to start spreading some debris around the scene. Eventually a journal page will come out of the cabinets.

The Cosmos: There is a space station that is available as soon as you enter the realm. Wave at it and it will unlock a journal page.

  • Played a song in the Song Library.

After you have unlocked songs via the campaign, you will be able to play them in the song library. Once you play a song from the library, this achievement will unlock.

  • Viewed a recording of a saved performance.

Once you complete a song, you are given the option to watch your performance. This is basically the song without the trappings of things like the composition spells and such. Watch the performance through to the end and the achievement will unlock.

  • Switched to a new mix 150 times.

This will probably unlock fairly early in the game. Every time you swap from one mix to another in any track, it counts. You do not need to swap all tracks, just any single one. You will need to unlock the different mixes first by completing score goals, but after that just switch tracks 150 times across all songs and the achievement will unlock.

  • Played 3 songs with all mixes available, but only used a single mix.

This is fairly easy and there are several song goals that require you to do just this. Once you have completed both score goals to unlock all three mixes in a song, play only tracks from a single mix. So, whenever you are prompted, choose only one of the blue, pink or green mixes, depending on your preference. It can be the same song thee times, or three different songs.

  • Played an entire song with audio components from all 3 mixes present at all times.

Aside from Scout's Song, Theme from Fantasia and Toccata and Feuge, this can be done on any song once you have all three mixes unlocked. It can be a little tricky keeping track of what is and isn't playing if you are constantly switching tracks, so it is best to choose a mix and stick with it. At the beginning of the song, make sure you pick at least one track from each mix. When you reach a switch cue, look for the instrument that is pulsing and choose that track. This will keep all the tracks the same through out the course of the song.

  • Hit every cue on 40 different Composition Spells in songs.

Obviously you will need to have at least one Composition Spell unlocked in order to do this. This isn't just activating the spell, you need to hit every cue in the geometric pattern. If you have a streak going into the spell, you will need to keep that streak for the duration of the spell. There are two spells in most songs, so you will probably get this while working on other achievements or working through the campaign.

  • Refrained from opening a Composition Spell by missing a single side.

You may get this naturally on one of the less forgiving spells, but if you do not, or you just want the achievement, you can actively miss a single side. As the spell progresses, the shape will rotate allowing you to activate more sides. And it will usually rotate in such a way as to allow you another chance at what you have missed. Your best bet it to stop hitting cues after you have unlocked all but one side, either naturally or methodically.

  • Spent 120 seconds working on a recording in a Composition Spell.

This can be done at any time and in any song aside from Toccata and Feuge. Simply keep playing with the recording in any Composition Spell for two minutes before exiting. The achievement will not unlock until after you return to the song, so you my want to keep a running count of how long it has been either in your head or on a watch.

  • Revealed every available mix for 15 songs.

You unlock alternate mixes by reaching score goals in the song and can only unlock one per runthrough. So you will need to play at least 12 songs twice in order to unlock all the mixes. The reason for 12 songs and not 15 is because there are 3 songs that come with all mixes unlocked. The score goals are very reasonable, and should come with little effort so long as you hit the switch cues and build up your multiplier. You can use DLC for this, but it is not necessary. See "Mix Master" for more info.

  • Revealed every available mix for all 33 on-disc songs.

For all but three songs, you will need to reach score goals in order to unlock the alternate mixes. The score goals are very reasonable and so long as you hit the majority of the switch cues to build up your multiplier, you should have no difficulty reaching the goal and unlocking the alternate mix. Only the three mixes that come with the game matter. Some songs will display a fourth mix, but that is DLC and does not matter. Of the songs, 25 are located in the realms f the campaign, 3 are unlocked via story progression and 5 are unlocked by collecting fragments. Here is the list of songs on disc and where you can find them.

  • Earned Five Golden Notes on a song in Single Player mode.

To get golden notes, you need to get 100% cues hit. This isn't actually that hard as there are several easy songs in the game. It's made easier by the fact that you don't need to hold the hold cue to the end or find the correct path in the path cues. You just need to keep your streak from the start of the song to the end. See "Noteworthy" for more info.

  • Earned Five Golden Notes on 5 songs in Single Player mode.

To get golden notes, you need to get 100% notes hit. It doesn't matter if you don't hold the hold cues to the end, miss switch cues or don't perfectly perform path cues. All you need to do is keep your streak alive from the start of the song to the end. It would obviously be easier to get this done on level 1 difficulty songs, but there are only 4 level 1 difficulty songs included with the game. Another suggestion to try would be Scout's Song, as the final goal for the song involves fully performing everything outside the spells, so keeping your streak through the spells will get you golden notes. Toccata and Fugue is also a suggestion due to its short length. One tip would be to stick with one mix to ensure that the beat remains reasonably consistent, with the Original (blue) mix usually being the easiest. This isn't always the case, as the Orchestral (pink) mix of Ziggy Startdust is reasonably easy. Once you get golden notes on 5 different songs, the achievement will unlock.

  • Completed every available goal for 15 songs.

Every song on the disc has between one and four goals. Some have a tutorial goal that you should get easily by playing the tutorial, most have score goals in order to unlock alternate mixes (see "Mix Master" for info on the score goals) and every song on the disc has a unique goal. Some of these involve choosing only specific mixes, others involve playing sections perfectly or hitting a certain number of path cues or hold cues. See "Goal Star" for a brief guide to every on disc song.

  • Completed every available goal for all on-disc songs.

Every song on the disc has between one and four goals. Some have a tutorial goal that you should get easily by playing the tutorial, most have score goals in order to unlock alternate mixes (see Mix Master for info on the score goals) and every song on the disc has a unique goal. Some of these involve choosing only specific mixes, others involve playing sections perfectly or hitting a certain number of path cues or hold cues. What follows is a brief guide to the final goal for every on-disc song.

Applause: Start the song in the Blue mix, then switch to the Green mix, then Pink mix, Blue mix, etc. While the concept is simple, it can get confusing while you are doing it. In particular, coming out of the Spells can cause you to lose track. If you are ever unsure of where you are, look at your silhouette. It will tell you exactly which mix you are in. Keep the rotation going for the entire song and you will end in the. Blue Mix.
Blue Monday: Play only the Green Mix. This is simple enough. Just make sure that you play it safe by choosing only the green mix at the beginning and always select the green mix at switch cues.
Bohemian Rhapsody: Hit 5 cues while maintaining a hold with you other hand. To unlock this, you will need to keep the hold. If you slip out of the hold circle while performing the cue with your other hand, it will not count. The song only features 9 of these situations, though. There are 8 in the Metal (Green) mix after the first switch cue and one in the Original (Blue) mix in the final section. The "Nothing really matters" section.
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik: Hit 30 Double Cues. There are more than enough double cues in the Original (Blue) mix of this very easy song. There are 10 in the composition spells and 6 each time through the main refrain.
Enjoy the Silence: Fully perform 50 hold cues. First off, you are going to need to make sure that you hold the cues to the end, otherwise it will not count. Second, there are only about 45 hold cues in the Original (Blue) mix, but they occur in bunches. The Pink mix, on the other hand, contains a lot of incidental Hold Cues. What you are going to want to do is play the Blue mix in the first, fourth, sixth and final sections, while playing the Pink mix the rest of the time.
Feel Good Inc.: Find and Perform the Windmill routine. The Windmill routine is located in the Case and Point (Green) mix after the second spell. The routine consists of four double cues, alternating up and down, then out to opposite sides.
Fire: Start in the Original Mix and choose it at every switch cue. This is very straight forward. Every time you are given the option, you will need to select the blue mix. Make sure that you don't miss a switch cue and that you always choose the blue mix.
Forget You: Pick the Pink mix at every guitar/synth switch cue. There are only 3 of these cues. You will need to make sure that you pick the Pink guitar track instead of any of the piano/synthesiser mixes in the other mixes. If you want to play if safe, pick only the pink mix from start to finish.
Four Seasons - Winter: Select the Green mix at every possible percussion cue. Whenever you see the choice between a blue xylophone and a green drum kit, choose the drum kit. It's a simple matte of choosing the green mix at the switch cues. It is more straightforward if you choose only the green mix when ever you reach a switch cue.
Galang: Fully perform the final section in the Original (Blue) mix. This is actually quite difficult. You need to hit all cues, hold all hold cues to the end, follow all path cues completely and so on. This is particularly challenging because the final section includes a set of path moves where you are not moving symmetrically. You are asked to curve one hand out and up, then back to the centre, while the other hand goes out and down, then back to the centre. The biggest tip is to move on the path as soon as you punch out to start it. This may take a few attempts.
Get Ur Freak On: Fully perform all Square moves in the Original mix. There are 7 in total, 3 in the first section, and 4 in the final section, after the second composition spell. They are all diagonal moves and the tricky part is that they are not on a regular beat. There are other moves that look similar, but only the 7 mentioned count.
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2: Fully perform 15 path cues. This is made challenging by the fact that there are only 19 path cues in the song if you select the right mixes and they are some of the more challenging moves to fully perform. In order to get 19 you need to start in the Green mix, switch to the Blue mix at the first opportunity, then over to the Pink mix at the second switch cue. After that, stay with the blue mix for the duration of the song. If you are having difficulties with the double cues, try focusing on just one of the cues. You do have a little margin for error and nailing one is better than missing both.
In Your Eyes: Fully perform the 4 upward hold cues in the Original mix. In order to fully perform them, you need to hold the cue until it ends. You are free to miss the next move if that helps. The 4 moves are spread throughout the song, but only the four that occur simultaneously count.
Levels: Fully perform the Heart Path in the Original mix. The heart path occurs just after the first composition spell and is rather easy. Make sure you start moving along the path immediately after punching out to start them.
Locked Out of Heaven: Select the Green mix at every vocal Switch Cue. The Green vocal mix features the image of a trombone, as opposed to the other mixes which are just microphones. Make sure that you select them every time they appear. It would probably be easier to select the green mix at every opportunity, but so long as you choose the mix that features the trombone from at the green switch cues, you will be fine.
Message in a Bottle: Find and perform the SOS routine. The SOS moves occur in the Green mix right after the first spell. They are simple enough, consisting of 3 sweep cues to the right, 3 punch cues and 3 more sweep cues to the right. It's SOS in Morse code.
Night on Bald Mountain: Start on the Green mix and select it at every switch cue. This is fairly simple, so long as you focus on hitting the switch cues and make sure that you emphatically select the green mix.
Nutcracker Medley: Unlock both Composition Spells. You don't need to get a perfect score or hit every cue in the spell, you just need to unlock them. By the time you get to this point, you should have a lot of experience with the spells and realize that the spells are very forgiving, rotating to allow you to hit lines that you may had missed.
Radioactive: Fully perform all the radioactive symbols in the Pink mix. The two radioactive symbols occur at the end of the final vocal mix. They start with a punch, followed by a downward swipe, finishing with a double up and out swipe. Not the most complicated, but if you miss any one of the moves, you will need to play the entire song again.
The Real Me: Complete 10 Path Cues. There are only 12 Path Cues, all of which are in the Green mix. Fortunately, the path cues in this song are relatively easy, consisting of only 6 sets of double vertical paths. Remember to start moving your hand along the path as soon as you punch out to start.
Rocket Man: Fully perform the final section of the Pink Mix. This is not easy. There are a lot of quick moves, so your best bet is to learn to alternate arms, since a sweep to the right and then a diagonal up and right sweep does not always track perfectly on the same arm. In addition to hitting every cue, you will need to hold every hold cue until the end. You are best served by playing the pink mix from the beginning of the song in order to get accustomed to the beat and flow of that version of the song.
Royals: Start in the Pink mix and select it at every switch cue. This is straightforward enough. You will need to hit every switch cue, but that's all you need to hit.
Scout's Song: Fully perform every cue outside the spells. This is amongst the hardest goals. You don't need to hit the cues in the spells, but you need to do everything else. Follow every path perfectly, hold every hold cue to the end and such. That means that you can get 5 Golden Notes on the song and still not hit this goal. Watch your counter for how many of the notes out of 224 that you have performed. By the time you reach the first spell, you will need to have a counter of 18, 61 at the second spell, 69 at the third spell, 71 at the fourth spell and 85 at the fifth spell. If you do not have this count, you have missed something. After the fifth spell, first you'll need to keep your streak until the end. You'll also need to perfectly perform a few tricky path cues. One of the hardest is a falling or rising wave pattern. This one can almost be performed as a straight diagonal if you are having issues.
Settle Down: Start in the Pink mix and select it at every switch cue. This is straightforward enough. You will need to hit every switch cue, but that's all you need to hit. Make sure you only move one arm since Kinect occasionally will choose the wrong arm if you move both.
Seven Nation Army: Fully perform all 8 echoed vocal sections in the Pink mix. This isn't too hard, but the echoes are spread throughout each vocal section. The first vocal section has two, while the others have 3. Sometimes it is sweeps, other times it is hits, but none are difficult.
Some Nights: Fully perform all moves where the lyrics reference the song title in the Pink mix. These occur in the vocal sections only. There are 10 in total, 7 in the first vocal section and 3 in the vocal sections between the spells. The moves vary, but they are not complicated.
Super Bass: Complete 5 path cues. There are 8 path cues in the blue mix, so stay in the blue mix. 4 of the cues are singles, and the other 4 are in double cues, so you have a significant margin for error. Make sure you start moving your hand along the path as soon as you punch out so that you don't miss the first section.
Symphony No. 9, IV: Fully perform both falling leaf patters in the Original (blue) mix. Both of these moves occur in the violin sections, and both are right after the spells. The first section consists of 6 alternating downward curves while the second consists of 4 alternating downward curves. You will need to hit all 10 of the moves.
Take Care: Start in the Pink mix, but switch to the Green mix at every Switch Cue. This is straightforward enough. Make sure that every mix you choose in the opening is the Pink mix, and that you hit every switch cue for the green mix. The green mix is all microphones, so don't get confused on one of the game's longer songs.
Theme from Fantasia: Get a streak of 50 cues. There are about 250 cues in the blue mix, which appears to be the easiest. You don't need to hold the Hold Cues until the end, but you do need to start them. You don't need to fully perform the path cues, but you do need to start them. All you need to do is keep your streak going.
Toccata and Fugue: Fully perform 12 Path Cues. If you choose the correct path, there are only 14 path cues max. The first section has 6 in the green mix, the second has 2 in the pink mix, the third has 2 in the green mix and the fifth has 4 in the green mix. The two paths in the third section occur very close together, so you are almost going to need to have the second path started before you get confirmation that you have hit the first. A lot of the cues are in double moves, so you can't even try the "just focus on one move" trick. Remember that you are going to want to start moving immediately after you punch out to start the path to not risk missing the first move.
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt 1: Fully perform the 2 Giant Robot gesture patterns in the Original mix. Both of them occur in vocal sections, one in the vocal section after the first spell and the other in the vocal section after the second spell. The pattern involves a double sweep, where one arm goes up and the other goes down, then moving each arm in the alternate direction. You may want to make sure that your arms are out in front of you when you start to make sure that you don't miss the first downward cue.
Ziggy Stardust: Select the Green mix at every percussion cue. There are only 2 percussion switch cues, so make sure that you select the green mix at those opportunities. So not the pink timpani or the blue drum kit. You can even play the entire green mix to make things easier.

  • Completed a song in Multiplayer Mode.

So long as Kinect sees something that it recognizes as a person you will be able to unlock this achievement. Keep in mind that you need to have both players shake hands in order to enter multiplayer mode. You will need to start the song in multiplayer and finish it to unlock this.

  • Created recordings with all 5 Composition Spells in Multiplayer Mode.

    (1)

If you are playing many different songs, you will probably get this naturally, as different songs feature different spells, once they have been unlocked. However, if you want to get this out of the way quickly, Scout's Song contains all 5 spells. Both players will need to act, but most of the spells contain cues that either player can hit in Multiplayer Mode. But one or two of the lines are usually reserved for each player.

  • Earned Five Golden Notes as a team on a song in Multiplayer Mode.

In order to unlock this, both players but hit 100% of their cues. You do not need to hold every hold cue to the end, or complete every path cue, you just need to keep your streak through out the entire song. The easiest song is probably Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, since it contains only hold cues and hit cues, so it will probably be the easiest song for a novice to pick up. The hardest part is actually the spells, since the cues move as the shape rotates.

  • Made music with 7 different instruments in a single visit to The Workshop.

In order to play with an instrument, wave the muse over it for a little bit until it activates. Some of the instruments are a little hard to see. but here is a list of the six actual instruments:

    • Harpsichord - Far left of the screen
    • Boombox - Under the balcony on the left
    • Drum - Under the balcony
    • Organ - Under the balcony
    • Zither - Left of the fireplace
    • Turntable - Far right of the screen

As for the seventh instrument, that's not exactly clear. It seems as though the bassoon that plays as broom to the right of the staircase moves counts, though that is not certain. The achievement will unlock immediately once you create a sound with all 7 instruments. They do not all have to be playing at once.

  • Bought the celebrated broom to life in The Workshop.

The broom is to the right of the staircase in The Workshop. Wave your hand over the broom and it will come to life as it did in the original Sorcerer's Apprentice piece in Fantasia.

The secret spots are covered in crystals, like the spider web in the centre.

After you wave at him in all of them, the achievement will unlock.

  • Played 9 different musical variations with the kittens in The Haven.

After unlocking a fragment in Winter, a cat will appear in the tree on the right of the screen. Wave at the cat and kittens will appear and run and hide. You can find a kitten by waving at where the footprints end, causing them to mewl. Find them as they wander around the screen and they will make a different sound in different locations. But there are a limited number of sounds that they make. To get different sounds, wave at the cat in the tree again to cause it to change colour, and causing the hiding cats to change sounds. You can get 3 different colours out of the cat in the tree, so just keep following the kittens around until you get enough sounds to unlock the achievement.

You can deflect the fragments as well and split them into smaller pieces, though they will eventually disappear. Do this with a few fireballs and the fragments and the achievement will unlock.

  • Created a recording with both of the "food groups" in a single visit to The Neighborhood.

The food hotspot is unlocked by getting a fragment in Forget You. Once inside, you will have the option of making a recording with either meat or vegetables. • Found new homes for the elephant and the fish in The Neighborhood.

This requires several fragments across the songs in The Neighbourhood. You will need both fragments from Galang to unlock the fish. Wave and cause them to jump to the wall with the undersea mural. Wave at them again and they will jump into the bowl of soup billboard to the left. For the elephant, a fragment in The Real Me will cause balloon paintings to appear on the building on the bottom left of the screen. Pull the balloons out with the muse on the right hand side of the building and they will pick up the elephant from the billboard. Drag the floating elephant over to the billboard of the savannah on the far left and the achievement will unlock.

  • Stamped graffiti onto the train in The Neighborhood.

  • Had a workforce that included Fix-Bots of both sizes and all 3 colors in The Press.

You will need to have unlocked most of the fragments in The Press to unlock this achievement as it requires almost all of the machines unlocked. First, wave at the elevator in the centre to summon some robots (at least three, though more will be more helpful). As they wander around, thy will wander under the magnet on the right hand ceiling. Wave at the magnet to pick them up and change their colour to the one displayed on the magnet. Wave at the magnet again and the light will change colours, allowing you to pick up different robots and change them to that colour. Make sure that you have a robot in all three colours. Then move over to the left hand side and wave at the machine on the far left to activate it. Drag the electricity over to the robots as they pass by and they will change size to unlock the achievement.

  • Played a continuous 25-note melody using all 3 types of paper creatures in The Plant.

The first fragment in each song will unlock a new machine that will create new origami creatures. As you wave the muse over one of the creatures it will play a sound, so you will need to get enough creatures to get 25 notes going, though since you need to activate all three machines, you should have more than enough to play 25 notes before they fly away. You can use the same creature more than once.

Back to the left hand side to keep the lights going and repeat until the achievement unlocks.
