Introduction:
Welcome to Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, the fifth game in the Ultimate Ninja Storm franchise but only the fourth to make it onto the Xbox 360. This is not a numbered Storm game for a reason, it really doesn't move the plot forward for the series as it really hasn't progressed much further in the anime or manga than where Storm 3 left off.
This game is more like Generations two, as its more about the ideas and the fighting than it is about the plot of the anime/manga. It does cover three plot points though. Which are Shisui's death, the founding of the Akatsuki, and Obito's "death". Otherwise the focus is on the Tournament "story" mode and the combination ultimate jutsus.
Note about Turbo Controller:
You can use a turbo controller to do much of the game for you. Details can be seen in this thread: https://www.xboxachievements.com/foru...d.php?t=612925
Step 1 - Ninja Escapades:
This is a short mode with only seven total fights. You need to S rank each fight in one shot for the two S rank achievements. S Ranks are primarily scored on time and remaining health. So if you're having trouble with the S ranks skip to step two, earn some cash and buy health items and chakra replenishment items to make it a little easier on yourself. It is perfectly doable without those items though. The most troublesome fight will likely be with Deidara and possibly Sasori depending on your play style. S ranking all five fights in the Creation of the Akatsuki will nab you "Behind Creation" and "A Birth of a Masterpiece".
Neither of the fights in the Two Uchiha are that hard to S rank but you might need to retry the Danzo fight a few times to get the S rank. S ranking both fights in The Two Uchiha will snag you "The Man Shadowing the Village" and "Uchiha's Greatest."
After you clear the Creation of the Akatsuki and The Two Uchiha you will unlock the Far Reaches of Hopesegment, which is just cutscenes. Which are skippable if you don't care about that particular plot point with Obito. Once the cut scene is done you will unlock "The One Standing."
Step 2 - Ninja World Tournament - The Tournaments:
There are six tournaments to finish in this mode; D rank, C rank, B rank, A rank, S rank, and S+ Rank. D rank is an introductory tournament in a lot of ways. It's plain and a lots you to get the idea of how to play tournament matches. (They play pretty similar to mob battles in Storm 3). C rank introduces Orbs, which come in two flavors. Ultimate Jutsu Orbs which let you use your ultimate jutsu once, and Awakening Orb which will allow you to activate True Awakening for a power and speed boost. Rails are also introduced in the C rank tournament as well as in the Mecha Naruto story if you do that before jumping to the C rank.
The S+ rank tournament is just one battle against the three characters you chose as teammates for the S rank tournament and they all start in their True Awakening forms at the beginning of the fight.
Step 3 - Ninja World Tournament - The Challenges:
After clearing each rank tournament six challenges will unlock for each tournament. Each one provides rewards that increase in value as the tournaments rank increases. There are really nothing special about these tournament matches, and it really just more four way tournament fights. You need to clear six challenges for D, C, B , A, and S rank tournaments for a total of 30 challenges
Step 4 - Ninja World Tournament - Mecha Naruto Story:
After clearing the D Rank tournament in the Ninja World Tournament Mode you will unlock the Mecha Naruto Story to playthrough. Its a series of the 3-4 way fights that tournament mode is made for. Playing through this mode will nab you "Finished My First Job!" since you have to clear a handful of jobs to progress the story. You don't have to S rank anything in the Mecha Naruto Story, so you can just blitz to the end to unlock "MY FIRST "FRIEND.""
Step 5: Free Battle - Ability Cap Survival Challenges and Ultimate Survival:
With the Ninja World Tournament mode behind us let's move on to the various modes collected under the banner of Free Battle. First up Survival mode. This mode gets progressively more annoying as it goes on as you lose margin for error over time due to having more opponents and more annoying rules and circumstances that you have no choice but to bend to. The ability cap survival has unique rules for each one and can have three to 10 enemies. If you are struggling Edo-Minato and Deidara are both pretty easy to pass with as they have easy to abuse abilities.
The real challenge here and well the entire game is Ultimate Survival, you will need to win 30 fights in a row with constantly changing battle conditions. Luck plays a part in this as you may not run into the one or two conditions that go against the way you play the game, and even if you do it's could be against a character you're good against. Again though Edo-Minato and Deidara work really well here. This may take a few tries but don't give as it really isn't that bad to do.
Step 6 - Free Battle - Leagues and Tournaments:
Here you will need to one ever changing league, free Battle League, Ever Changing Tournament as well clear each of the Challenge Leagues. The challenge leagues are broken up into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. They really don't get that much harder as you progress. These are standard fights and you can use support characters if you want. They run in a round-robin format so you have to fight each person in the league once, the one with the most points at the end wins. Once you get through these and you have cleared everything else up to this step you are probably done, but if not then move onto the mop up stage where you will collect the miscellaneous achievements you have not earned yet.
Step 7 - Mop-Up:
At this point you really shouldn't have much or any thing left at all. If by chance you're missing any of the miscellaneous achievements in the game like for doing specific things in combat or using specific things in the open world then now is the time to do it. If you need to know how to do a specific achievement, each one is laid out in detail how to obtain them in their respective spots in the guide.
Conclusion:
Really this game isn't that hard and doesn't take all that long. It can just seem long as it can get very tedious going through all the ability cap survivals, challenge leagues, and tournament challenges. Difficulty wise this game shouldn't pose much of an issue except for maybe the the Ultimate Survival, which may give you some trouble.
