WARNING: This is one of the few games that does not work properly with Quick Resume on an XSX. If you dashboard and then resume the game, achievements will not unlock. You must close the game app and then relaunch it to get achievements to unlock properly again. The good news is that if you are affected by this and have played through without achievements unlocking, you can simply replay the short level that triggers the achievement and it'll unlock immediately. To help with this, I've noted in the guide where each story achievement unlocks.

Introduction:
Welcome to LEGO Builder's Journey, a game that is a significant departure from other entries in the LEGO franchise. If you were expecting another action adventure game with a long and tedious completion, you're in luck: this is an isometric puzzle game that only takes a few hours to complete even without a game. It's a very straightforward and relaxing game, with no HUD, no information on screen at all, and just simple one-screen puzzles to solve. The goal is to move your LEGO character from point A to point B by moving around LEGO pieces for them to walk on. It's the type of puzzle game where there isn't one exact solution, but rather multiple ways to move your character depending on how you use the LEGO pieces. This makes it quite easy. Let's get started.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
Every achievement in this game is story related, so if you are a puzzle fan, go ahead and jump right in and work through all the levels. If you're after a quick completion, a video guide is available in Builder's Journey (100G). However, while the video is an hour and a half long, and (like many content creators for achievement walkthroughs) they claim you can complete the game in an hour and a half, that isn't realistic. You'll need to watch the video, then pause and replicate the actions. This essentially doubles the time it'll take to complete this game, so even if you follow the video, expect to spend a solid 2-3 hours on the completion. By comparison, without the video guide it took me around three hours to complete the game. As a result, I think you can expect to spend around three hours with this game no matter how you tackle it.

So, my recommendation is just to jump into the game and play through it yourself, only consulting the video guide if you get stuck or need help. I think you'll find that the vast majority of puzzles are extremely intuitive and straightforward. The only time things got a bit more obtuse was when the machines get involved around two thirds of the way through the game. I found there were times there where it wasn't immediately obvious where to go or how to get there, so that might be a good time to consult the game. Much of the rest of the levels just involve manipulating the LEGO pieces, so you'll end up wasting a lot of time watching someone do something that doesn't need to be replicated in the exact same way.

If all goes well, you'll unlock every achievement along the way. However, if you fall victim to the Quick Resume issue mentioned above, consult the guide below. I've noted each level where achievements unlock, allowing you to quickly and easily return to them via Level Select to unlock any achievements that didn't unlock properly.

Conclusion:
I found this to be a very enjoyable puzzle game. It looks great, is very minimalistic in design, is mostly intuitive, and doesn't wear out its welcome with an extremely drawn out game length. The price point is probably the biggest issue, but wait for a sale and it'll be a fun and quick completion!
