Introduction:
Prodeus is an indie FPS brought to us by Bounding box that bring the joys of the old school FPS like Doom and Quake into a new light. Playing this instantly brought back the memories of when I played Doom for the first time. Prodeus does well to be able to stand up there with the others. To further increase the enjoyment, it comes along with a fantastic metal soundtrack that changes tone as you battle through the enemies, and has level designs where you never feel like you have seen it before, with a linear gameplay that steers you towards the end so you don't have to worry about getting lost in a map like the old school FPS could leave you feeling.
Abbreviated Walkthrough:
Firstly, before starting your main playtrough, I will suggest getting the miscellaneous achievements out the way, and the player created maps in the community workshop is where we will go for them. I will link the main achievements here then add more in the description.
First is Kill 10000 Enemies (50G). Going for this can get you seven more achievements also. See description for more information. Then it will be Friendly-Fire 20 (25G), In-Fight 100 (50G), Cloak And Dagger (25G), and Shield Breaker (25G).
Now comes Kind Of A Big Deal (25G) and A Really Big Deal (50G). What I did is play through the first level on ultra hard following a 100% guide which I will link in the achievement's solution. This is not as difficult as you may think, just take your time. The hardest part is where you pick up the rune. The prologue doesn't count, just from when you start Sacrum. This will unlock another six achievements.
Now it is time for the main playthrough on whichever difficulty you prefer while going for Go Get Some Fresh Air (100G) and enjoying the game.
Multiplayer:
Their is a multiplayer element ro the game but no achievements linked to it.
Mop-Up:
Following what I have laid out will just leave you with a few achievements to get like Hidden Exit (10G), Pacifist (50G), and Hard Target (25G), but I will link where I can in the descriptions.
Conclusion:
This is an enjoyable game for those to like the old school FPS. It retains the retro look we all fell in love with but with a modern take which paid off and produced a fantastic game which was created by people who are veterans in this style of gaming.
I would also like to thank the players in the Prodeus community that created the maps where some achievements are made easily available if they were to ever visit this guide.
