Auto Tracking Not Working / Gamertag Not Scanning / Checklist Inquiries *POST HERE*

I'm sorry if this is not the appropriate place to post this.

I recently set up an account and entered my gamertag.  I love going through all my stats, it's a really nice feature.

However, since signing up, it's not updating my new achievements and stats.  I recently completed What Remains of Edith Finch (great little game I'd never taken the time to play) and none of my gamerscore was added to the website.

I have the two settings I can find set to "automatic" on my settings page, but I'm wondering if there is something else I need to do?

Again, I'm a noob on these forums, so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask.

No worries about the location of this post. And thanks for registering with the site! We hope that the recent tracking update will bring in more new people as well as bring back previous members. :)

I’m looking at your profile now and Edith Finch is definitely not listed in your Played Games. I looked at the timestamps on your Xbox profile in the app and you unlocked everything on Oct. 2, so that game, River City Girls and AI should all be tracked in your profile since it’s scanned once every 24 hours. It’s certainly been over 24 hours since you’ve unlocked your last achievement.

I’ve kicked your issue up to Rx and admin. Hopefully we’ll get an answer soon. Welcome aboard!

I would like to add how great that the auto tracking is. I kept up diligently with the manual entries for years and then slacked off (ending up about 40k GS behind), vowing I'd come back and get up to date again. Thank you all so much for the hard work to implement it.

I have a couple issues that I don't know how rare they are. On my checklist, I have games (Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Halo: MCC, and The Survivalists are just 3 examples that I know of) that show 0 GS collected in the checklist list, but actual achievements listed when you click on them. However, on my Halo: MCC list, it shows the correct amount of achievements unlocked at the top in the game list, but none are showing completed as you scroll down through the list.

My profile has the correct GS listed, minus a 10 pointer I unlocked tonight, but my checklist is missing about 21k GS at the top part.

Also, the listing for my Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle isn't showing up in the checklist, however, it has the correct completed list.

Again, thank you for this wonderful feature!

Kudos for keeping up with your manual checklists for this long. I gave up a few years ago and I haven't looked back.  ;)

When you say 'checklist', do you mean games added to 'My Checklist', the ones where you enable the list so you could check off achievements? Or do you mean when looking at the achievement list, the achievements you know you have unlocked are still showing locked? Pardon if I'm misunderstanding you.

If it's the second thing, we are aware of the issue and hope to have the bug corrected sometime this week. I myself am having issues with some games/lists; at the top of Hitman 2, it is showing I've unlocked 92 achievements for 1735G, yet in the list itself is showing all the achievements locked.

I do know that Mass Effect, Halo MCC, The Survivalists and Friday the 13th are showing correctly in your Played Games in your profile. I checked them against your XBL profile on the Xbox app and they are showing the correct gamerscore for each (Friday is showing 10G less in your profile since you you just unlocked it as you mention).

https://www.xboxachievements.com/profiles/fuelstaind/games

Now, in your Settings, when looking at achievement lists and guides, you have the option to have 'Automatic (Feed)' tracking or 'Manual (Checklist)' tracking. If you have selected Automatic, you cannot check off any achievements when you unlock them; they will show as unlocked after you are scanned (and when it's working ). If you've selected Manual, you can still check off any achievements as you unlock them. You can't have both; it's one or the other. If you select Manual, any game in your checklist will not be included in that game's leaderboard, but, games will still track correctly on your profile regardless (for example, checking off all achievements for a game when you've really only unlocked one will not affect the game in your profile; it will still show only one achievement unlocked).

Apologies again if I misunderstood you. I hope this answered your inquiry. Thanks and keep checking back!

The checklist is the full list of games I have played or wanted to play. Where you had to add the game to the checklist in order to tick off the completed achievements. I would think of the other as the achievement list for the game.

The issue I am referring to with Halo: MCC is the same as your Hitman 3. If you were to hit that link to my profile and click on Halo: MCC, it would show the correct GS at the top, but none of the achievements show unlocked.

I do have both of the settings set to automatic.

So, I went and looked. Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle doesn't have an option to add to the checklist. I am going to assume that you have to have that set to Manual in order to add games to the checklist now.....? But that doesn't seem right, as I am pretty sure that several games were not added to my checklist by me, but are on there now; albeit with the same issue of not showing GS when looking at the checklist. So then maybe there is just an issue like you said that extends to adding to the checklist. I will look back next week and see if things are working better.

Again, thank you so much for this feature!

Okay, that's what I thought you might have meant, the actual checklist for checking off achievements. Thanks for making that clear. :)

Yeah, that Halo MCC thing is the bug I was talking about. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. I have very few games in my checklist; Hitman 2 and 25 LEGO games. Hitman 2 and about half of the LEGO games are still showing everything locked despite having 1735G in Hitman 2 and all achievements in 23 of the 25 LEGO games.

Yes, in order to add a game (enable the achievement list) to your checklist, you need to switch to Manual tracking first. After you've enabled the list, you can change back to Automatic and the game you just added will be in your checklist. Hopefully the game will be showing correctly the achievements you've unlocked. I just tested it with my profile. As far as games mysteriously added to your checklist, I can have Rx look into it, but this is the first I've heard of that happening. A quick solution would be to just delete any game you don't want.

I'll post again when that bug has been fixed. Thanks!

I don't think it's random games or anything. The only games that I know that have been added to my checklist were ones I have played and gotten achievements in. That's supposed to happen, right, once the bugs have been worked out of the system? I can't say for sure that it isn't also any game I have played, even with no achievements unlocked.

The checklist doesn’t have anything to do with automatic tracking or the games you’ve played or plan on playing. It only consists of games added by the user by enabling the achievement list while using Manual tracking. The function of the checklist is supposed to be 100% manual.

When you earn an achievement in a new game, it is not automatically added to the checklist. However, it is added to the Played Games link in your profile, which is updated every 24 hours.

Whether a game is in your checklist or not, if you look at a list and you’ve earned achievements in it, it’s supposed to show you which ones you have unlocked. That’s the bug; some games aren’t showing that.

It can be very confusing, especially now that there is automatic tracking. Auto tracking in essence replaced the checklist. Checklists are really only useful if you are using Manual tracking to check off achievements for yourself, but it can be used in tandem with Automatic tracking.

Ok. I get it now. the updated GS on my checklist is because auto tracking filled in achievements that I had earned on lists that I had added to the checklist. And since there are games I had not added to the checklist, that GS amount will be missing. I did notice that if there is a game in the checklist and you click on it, there is an option to disable the game on the checklist (upper right hand corner, but only on games with 0 GS). Would it be possible to add a similar button to add games to the checklist in the same spot?

So I guess the checklist is now obsolete, except for I use it to find a certain game I have played to look at the achievement list and the guide if there is one; instead of using the search bar. Is there a better method of finding games, like maybe Played Games in alphabetical order?

Also, the auto tracking has added Marvel's Avengers correctly, which I started yesterday, but still the other issue with Halo.

I can ask. Right now, the only way to add games to the checklist is to switch to Manual tracking, which makes sense because it's assumed when you add a game to the checklist you are going to manually check it off.

Yeah, pretty much obsolete but I admit, the Played Games is a bit tedious with having to 'load more' every 25 games or so, and they aren't in alphabetical order. With the checklist, they are and they're all on one page.

I have been using the search bar to find games since I first started using the site in 2008. It's by far the quickest way to find a game. Played Games is basically a copy of your game feed on xbox.com/app, but I don't see why it couldn't be manipulated to show games in alphabetical order. It may be a feature Rx has for down the road a little, but I can ask about this too.

I disagree.  I added some the other day still set to auto.  I searched for games, went to the achievement list and clicked on the "[Enable Checklist]" link.

Ah yes, you are correct. I just looked at a list that I don't have any achievements in and there was the Enable Checklist there. My bad. Thanks.

It seems to only work if you haven't gotten any achievements in the game. I just looked at a few that I have unlocked some and there was no link. In that case, you would have to switch to Manual then add the game.

Well it was fixed temporarily, but it immediately stopped updating my achievements again...  I'm not sure why it won't pull my achievements from my gamertag automatically.

When did you notice it stopped updating and how long has it been since it’s been updated? I’ll put a request in to Rx. Sorry about this. :(

EDIT - it’s updated.

It's a bug that Rx is working on (some profiles just not being scanned when they should be). He's figured one out and is working on a second. Once the second is also resolved, he is planned to reset all tags so they all catch up and should be good going forward. Stay tuned for when it's done. In the meantime, we'll try to help with your updates as needed.

I believe the total number of achievements I have / total number available to me is wrong which is throwing off my achievement percentage.  On here, since tracking went live, I haven't budged from 88%, which is about 8% higher than I show on TA.

(I hadn't reported this before as I know there's a lot of work being done in the background, and I was hoping something there would fix this.)

Is it off by a massive amount or just slightly? If it's a large amount, we know what the issue is and can get it fixed pretty quickly. I'll pass it on either way.

My unlocked achievements are approximately 70 more on XBA than TA. Plus, I’ve played 627 games according to XBA but only 605 on TA. Also, my XBA completion percentage is 91% versus 84.71% on TA. I do have the ‘all DLC’ filter on TA. No idea why there’s a discrepancy.

Here is what TA Says:
Rainith has won 15,288 Achievements out of a possible 19,120 (79.96% Completion - 3,832 remaining)

Here is what it says here:

15,369

Unlocked

2,127

Locked
