Developer Milestone has announced RIDE 5, the latest entry in the motorcycle racing sim series, following 2020's RIDE 4. RIDE 5 will be the first new-gen only Milestone racer, and will feature console cross-play, a new narrated Career Mode, and more.
RIDE 5's Career Mode will feature four main racing bundles to tackle, with the narrator guiding you through 200+ playable events. A leaderboard will track your progress against Career Mode's ten rival racers, each of whom have their own personality, background, and look. Ultimately, you'll need to reach the top of the leaderboard.
Endurance Races return from RIDE 4, too, with new in-race save and rewind features. Single Race and Time Trial modes also return, while technological improvements aim to enhance the level of realism for “the most authentic and exciting riding simulation ever”. Among the new additions is a dynamic weather system, with 3D volumetric clouds.
Bike physics have also been improved “in every aspect”, while local split-screen multiplayer returns for the first time since RIDE 2, alongside a Race Creator mode in which you can create and customise races and championship experiences, choosing AI rivals, tracks, and race rules, as well as bespoke liveries.
An enhanced selection of riding aids and assists also promise to make RIDE 5 more accessible. RIDE 5 is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 24th August 2023. Check out the announcement trailer below.
