For those of you who don’t know I have been learning how to build and grow websites over the last two years to generate passive income.
When I first started I was just hoping to make a sale in the first three months (someone clicked and ad for ~$1!)
A common theme that I had read so many other bloggers talk about was building relationships with fellow bloggers.
I didn’t really understand the potential of that until recently when I got invited to an apprenticeship in Mexico for the next two months!
Last August I took a class that taught advanced link building techniques since the community I was a part of didn’t really teach that.
Anyway, at the end of the class the instructor said the CEO would like me to apply for a remote position that would be 15-30 hours a week either as a link builder or a site manager.
Hmm? OK!
I thought, sure I will see what they have to say.
So, I filled out a quick form and uploaded a 3-minute video saying why I wanted the position.

And then….crickets!
As the next week or two went by I didn’t hear anything and thought they must have moved on to the next one.
I wasn’t too worried though as I had just acquired detailed processes on three ways to build links so I had plenty of work to do to keep trying to grow my own websites.
As time went on, I could really see progress with my websites from the link building efforts. I had doubled my sales from August to October and then tripled October’s sales in November!
Then, out of nowhere in the beginning of December, Hayden, the CEO of Wired Investors emailed me asking if I was still interested in hearing about a position.
Um, yes!
So, he dove right into the details of a two-month-long internship where we would be taught how to grow and scale internet based companies that they actually own.
Are you kidding? How could I say no to that!
There was just one hiccup.
It’s in Mexico.

How was I going to convince my wife to let me go for two months?
After a few emails back and forth with Hayden and several long discussions with Ashley (wifey), we decided it was an incredible opportunity that I should see where it goes.
While I am super excited about going there is a big layer of guilt right on top as well.
I know a year from now looking back two months will seem so quick but thought of leaving my wife (11 weeks pregnant) to be a single parent of our 5 year old son for two months is worrisome.
What if something happens?
I will be helpless.
But we only live a few miles from her parents and I know everything will be fine.
I also know that my partners at the restaurant are going to take on more responsibility and stress in my absence.
Just a little more pressure to try to make the most out of the opportunity so everyone can benefit!
Anyway, I created this section of the website so I can keep family and friends updated while I’m gone. Hope you enjoy!
I just received a curriculum of what we will be learning while I’m gone if you are interested:

Anyway, I will try to post as much as I can, not really sure what the schedule will be like.
